About this project

Finestkind follows stepbrothers (Foster and Wallace) raised on opposite sides of the tracks, reunited as adults over one fateful summer in New Bedford, Massachusetts,  home to the most profitable commercial fishing port in America.
 
One brother (Foster) spends his entire life treading in the footsteps of his gritty sea captain father (Jones) who comes from a long line of fisherman, yet never capturing any success in his eyes.  Meanwhile, the younger brother (Wallace) has experienced a steadier up bringing and after being accepted to a prestigious law school, faces an internal crossroad destined by his own father’s dreams and expectations.
 
Dragging anchor, baby brother finds himself standing at the ports of New Bedford asking the one person he has always admired most for help. Tides quickly shift where both brothers find themselves on course to protect one another, fighting for survival and ultimately doing whatever it takes to save the family-owned vessel, the Finestkind. 

When desperate circumstances force them and their crew to strike a deal with a dangerous Boston crime gang, a local young woman (Ortega) with a questionable past finds herself caught in the middle between romance and trust. Along the way, sacrifices must be made, while the bonds between two fathers and their sons are put to the ultimate test.
